I've always wanted a long term relationship with a woman. Yes, you heard me right, RELATIONSHIP. That should come as no surprise to people who have known me for a long time, but maybe not for others. "What?! I thought most teenagers were just interested in sex and sent dick pics to people on Snapchat!" I'll agree this is the case a lot of the time, but I'm not most teenagers and I'm not a huge jerk. With this being said, however, I don't have any interest in getting married. I imagine there's going to be more shocked comments from people seeing that, but there's a huge reason behind my decision.
You see, there is a lot of risk involved with marriage. It's sort of like investment. By marrying somebody, you have the risk of committing your entire life to being with a man or woman who may or may not care about you. Best case scenario they will love you with all their heart and will continue to love you until the day that one of you dies, possibly beyond. In the worse case, you're stuck with a cynical bitch who's primary purpose is to take advantage of you.
If this ends up being the case and you get divorced, they're allowed to take half of your assets. This means they could potentially take your house, your car, and even your business. This does not mean that they will, it means they have the ability to do so. You could always get a prenuptial agreement, but I'm not sure on the specifics of that and it's beyond the scope of this post.
The point of this post is to inform you that there's a lot of risk with getting married, and you could end up losing way more than just money. This, combined with the fact that I have never been in a relationship before besides friendship, is the reason why I don't want to get married. Of course, in the town I live in there's a high chance that most of the girls around here won't take advantage of me, but I would rather not take the risk and just have a relationship off paper.

I just want to let you guys know that I have no filter, so my posts are inevitably going to contain cursing in them. With this in mind, please don't come on here ranting about me because I said fuck. In addition, I have harsh opinions about the world, so don't get angry at my opinions either. Of course if you are angry, that's fine, but save that shit for yourself. There's better things to rant about than me, as will be witnessed from my future posts.

With the termination of Klango under way and Twitter getting ready to deprecate their streaming API, I figured it's time to look at alternatives. Hence, I've started a blog here on Elten. I suppose I should go into who I am. My name is Garrett Brown, and I'm a technology geek, as well as a starter for game development. I'm also blind, thanks to a dog attack when I was two years old. I also lost a finger because of that dog, but quite frankly I don't notice it much, which explains why I don't tell very many people about it. Since the attack I have undergone at least 15 surgeries, and as a result I have some facial scarring, an opened right eye and a closed left eye. The position of my eyes is stagnant, meaning I can't blink, close, or open them. Because of this, I have to constantly use eye drops for my right eye. To prevent me from getting up in the middle of the night to put in drops, I use ointment and a patch so that I can sleep peacefully.
